CCU Bulgaria Celebrates the New School Year for a 5th Consecutive Year

"Going to School with COOP: Let’s eat healthy and be active in sports"

On Sunday, 11 September, shortly before the start of the new academic year (always 15 September in Bulgaria), Central Cooperative Union, Bulgaria organized a day of festivities for schoolchildren and their parents at Supermarket COOP in Sofia. The joyful Sunday was filled with lots of fun, games, and surprises for all children and young students. To complement the fine atmosphere, parents and visitors were provided a tasting of Bulgarian and European COOP-branded goods.

In trying to promote healthy food choices, thematic art-kiosks "Healthy Eating" welcomed the young co-operators to colour and paint healthy foods and "Happy Fruits and Vegetables" of their preference, after which they could also get a face drawing of their favourite fruit or vegetable. The children were guided throughout the games and competitions by a COOP team of live characters - COOP Gardener, COOP Excellent Student, COOP Healthy Food Chef, and COOP Olympian, who turned a normal Sunday into a COOP Festival for everyone in presence.

The day’s culmination was a COOP raffle with attractive prizes, which were branded with the COOP Marque, as it is fully integrated within the CCU network. The celebration ended with a gift for each child - school backpack with a student kit and best wishes for a successful new academic year!
